Micah
The introduction below is from
Chuck Smith's Old Testament Study Guide,
available from all good Christian bookshops (contact
DCF
for details):
Micah was a
contemporary to Isaiah the prophet, prophesying during the
time that Isaiah was prophesying to Hezekiah the king.
Micah’s prophecies are cantered on the northern kingdom of
Israel, yet he does bring in Jerusalem and Judah into the
prophecies as well.
Prophesying
during this time meant that he was prophesying hen the
northern kingdom of Israel fell to the Assyrians, who then
invaded the southern kingdom at the time of Hezekiah. Of
course, they were defeated by God’s intervention. So Micah’s
prophecy is against Samaria and also against Jerusalem.
